Twitter has announced the implementation of "Circles", a function allowing Internet users to share their publications with a limited number of people.

In a tweet published on May 3, 2022 and relayed by BFM TV, the firm specifies that this number cannot exceed 150 users.

Only one “circle” will be allowed per person.

The members of this group will be able to see all the interactions that take place there without having access to the complete list of the other members.

The person in charge of the “circle” can modify the list, for example by removing members, without the other users being informed.

Some Tweets are for everyone & others are just for people you've picked.

We're now testing Twitter Circle, which lets you add up to 150 people who can see your Tweets when you want to share with a smaller crowd.

Some of you can create your own Twitter Circle beginning today!

Like close friends on Instagram

This function is similar to the "close friends lists" on Instagram.

Since November 30, 2018, the social network has allowed users to select a specific number of subscribers to share certain stories only with them.

Regarding Twitter, this new feature announced on May 3 is still under development.

For now, only a few users have access to this new feature.

This announcement comes shortly after the takeover of the social network by billionaire Elon Musk.
