Kang Su-yeon, a leading actress in the Korean film industry, was found in cardiac arrest at her home on the afternoon of the 5th and was taken to the hospital.

Kang is said to be in critical condition, still unconscious.

Actor Kang Su-yeon collapsed at his home around 5:50 pm yesterday.



Kang complained of pain at his home in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and was found in cardiac arrest by paramedics who were called by his family.



Kang was taken to the hospital while receiving CPR, where he is said to be being treated in an unconscious state.



Kang, 55, made his debut as a child actor at the age of 4 and became the first Korean actor to win an award at one of the world's top three film festivals by winning the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival in 1987 with Im Kwon-taek's movie 'Sister'.



After that, she won the Best Actress Award at the Moscow Film Festival for her performance in the movie 'Azeaze Baraze', and in 2001 she appeared in the SBS drama 'Woman in Heaven' and won the acting award.



From 2015 to 2017, Kang served as the co-executive director of the Busan International Film Festival and has been steadily active in the film industry.
