You must have heard a lot of expressions like 'jurin' and 'yorini' lately.

It is a word that uses the child's 'lini' to refer to a beginner in staple food or cooking, but there are voices saying that this expression should no longer be used.

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) expressed its opinion yesterday (3rd) that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism should come up with measures such as publicity and education so that the expression '~ Linyi' is not used in public documents.

It was also recommended to the Korea Communications Standards Commission to come up with appropriate measures, such as checking that such expressions are not used in broadcasting and the Internet.

Earlier, the Human Rights Commission received a complaint to the effect that calling a beginner '~ Linyi' is a discriminatory expression against children.

In response, the Human Rights Commission rejected the complaint, saying that it is difficult to identify the victim or to believe that specific damage has occurred.

However, it was determined that it was necessary to come up with improvement measures, such as raising social awareness about child demeaning expressions.

'This expression is based on the perception that children are immature and imperfect beings, and may promote negative stereotypes about children,' explained the Human Rights Commission.
