Today (1st), Labor Day, large-scale rallies were held in various parts of the country for the first time in three years.

Workers demanded that workers be guaranteed their right to work without discrimination and that a safe workplace would be created.

Workers are sitting densely on Sejong-daero in front of Sungnyemun.



The organizers estimated that the number of participants in the '2022 World Labor Day Congress' hosted by the Korean Federation of Trade Unions was 14,000.



This is the first large-scale rally held in three years since the 2019 Labor Day rally.



In other cities and provinces, such as Busan and Daejeon, workers' rallies were held at the same time.



Together, they chanted slogans and urged all workers to guarantee basic labor rights without discrimination and quality jobs without job insecurity.



He also criticized President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol's labor policy.

Six of the eight-lane round-trip roads were blocked, resulting in traffic congestion near Sejong-daero.



10,000 workers belonging to the KCTU marched to the Presidential Takeover Committee, demanding the guarantee of non-discriminatory labor rights.



Organizations related to the disabled, such as Jeonjangyeon, also held a resolution contest to win labor rights for the disabled on Labor Day.

More than 75,000 people across the country held Labor Day-related rallies, but they ended without major conflicts.
