Police arrested an employee suspected of embezzling 50 billion won from Woori Bank.



Seoul Namdaemun Police Station announced today that the employee surrendered at around 10:30 pm yesterday (27th) and was urgently arrested on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (Special Police Act).



This employee is known to be accused of embezzling about 50 billion won in company funds.



It was found that the police received a complaint from Woori Bank yesterday and started an investigation and were taking measures such as bans from leaving the country.



A police official said, "This employee came to the police station and surrendered himself." "After investigating the details, we will review the application for an arrest warrant."
