Mar Mía

is a rice restaurant, but also a high-end cocktail bar and a tapas bar.

A space that comes to revolutionize the capital from the Mediterranean.

Located in the

Plaza de Isabel II,

it has just opened its doors at the

Ocean Drive Madrid hotel,

recently inaugurated as well

.

Specifically, it is located in the old

Real Cinema

and in front of the

Teatro Real,

one step away from the Austrias, one more from Puerta del Sol and another from Callao and Gran Vía.

Respect, love and deep

devotion to the Mediterranean

and its wonderful gastronomy are at the base of this project that has a top team, led by

Carlos Bosch

(alma mater of successful projects such as

El Portal de Alicante

or Manero Alicante y Madrid), the well-known hotelier

Marc Rahola Matutes

and the chefs

Rafa Zafra

(the famous Sevillian chef at the head of

Estimar

) and

Luis Rodríguez

(the master of

Casa Elías

, for many the best rice restaurant in Spain in El Xinorlet, Alicante).

The Mar Mia room.

The restaurant is located at the foot of the hotel and is open to guests as well as visitors.

Both will find a warm space, with a rustic air, where there is no lack of artisan ceramics and that Mediterranean air that permeates everything.

The decoration is by

Raquel Giménez

, from the Apple Tart Design interior design studio.

Journey of authentic flavors

This journey through the most authentic Mediterranean begins in

El Puerto

, in the entrance lobby, a cocktail bar that becomes the perfect Madrid afterwork.

Behind it, a tapas bar that offers the most casual face and just after the more "formal" area,

El Chiringuito

, with the genre exposed and the fires and the embers as protagonists.

Among all of the above,

La Playa

is located in its private interior patio, which is a large space filled with natural light.

Finally, on the roof of the building, there is

The Roof

.

It is a

huge Mediterranean terrace with a swimming pool

and privileged views of

the Royal Theater

,

the Royal Palace

and the rooftops of the center of Madrid whose idea is to serve cocktails and snacks.

The "non-stop" kitchen allows you to start the morning with a

gourmet breakfast

(formula 25 euros) in which there is no shortage

of delicious butter croissants, artisan muffins and John Torres sourdough toast.

The appetizer, how could it be otherwise, is signed by

Manero:

sandwiches

(such as the squid, the

lobster roll

or the veal sirloin nugget) and traditional tapas such as

gildas

, salad, boletus croquettes and ham in addition to the already famous cannelloni from Carlos's mother.

Rafa Zafra

's seafaring universe

can be seen in its seafood, such as the excellent shrimp from Santa Pola or king crab, as well as in its seafood rations.

The

rice dishes at Casa Elías

, with rabbit and snail rice as the essential reference of the house, are the undisputed protagonists of the place.

The sweet touch is provided by homemade desserts such as creamy

egg

custard with whipped cream,

chocolate strips or French toast with vanilla ice cream

a la Manero.

liquid menu

Evidently the

wine list is up to the task

and closely linked to this concept of Iberian Mediterranean with numerous wines (also by the glass and generally national) such as generous (manzanilla, oloroso, amontillados...),

sweet, sparkling

(there is no lack of champagne),

rosés

,

whites

and

reds

, many of them with the Manero selection seal of quality.

As for the cocktail menu, in addition to the classics, signature creations stand out, such as the

Bloody Mary Mar Mía

(Belvedere vodka, Tomato juice and the Evil Mix secret sauce), the

Adonis

(red vermouth, Sherry wine and aromatic orange ), the

Pear Martini

(Belvedere vodka, white vermouth, Merlet Poire prepared with vodka, sweet vermouth and pear liqueur), the

Passion for Pisco

(Quebranta pisco, Jamaican rum, passion fruit purée and lime juice), the

Jalapiña

(sake, cachaça, chili and pineapple syrup) or

Hugo Spritz

(St. Germain elderflower liqueur macerated with thyme and Manero cava) to mention just a few elaborations.

Mar Mía

has an extensive menu of distillates in which its selection of tequilas stands out.

Live DJ and performances by jazz, flamenco or singer-songwriter groups make up an extensive program that can be checked on their website and accompany the evenings for eternal after-meals, unforgettable sunsets and magical nights.
