Nike unveiled its new collection of sneakers on Friday: the “CryptoKicks”.

these digital version sneakers were made in collaboration with RTFKT, a digital fashion studio acquired by the American giant in December 2021.

The originality of this collection?

Each pair is associated with an NFT, i.e. a certified and traceable digital token on the blockchain.

The articles are produced in limited quantities in order to create enthusiasm for future buyers, who will be able to wear these shoes to virtual avatars present in the virtual world that is the metaverse.

According to information from our colleagues, the “CryptoKicks” are already traded on the secondary market on the OpenSea platform, for an average price of 8,500 dollars.

Initially, these 3D shoes were only offered to members of the RTFKT community with an NFT represented in the form of a box, actually containing the precious sesame.

In November 2021, Nike had created its own virtual space in the Roblox metaverse: Nikeland.

With the "CryptoKicks", the world number 1 in clothing intends to continue its efforts to interact with its customers, in the real world or not.

The comma brand has recently filed a series of patents to establish its legitimacy in this area.
