When the opposition parties accepted the arbitration proposal by National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok, Prosecutor General Kim Oh-su immediately submitted a resignation letter.

It has been four days since President Moon Jae-in withdrew his intention to resign.

Through his spokesperson's office, President Kim left the government building through the underground parking lot, leaving only the brief statement that "I will take responsibility for all this and submit my resignation letter."

Park Seong-jin, deputy chief of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Koo Bon-seon, a research fellow at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, who served as deputy chief of the former president Yoon Seok-yeol, and six high prosecutors across the country who have been appealing to block the bill also expressed their intention to resign.

Although former presidents Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Jun-gyu resigned in protest against the adjustment of investigative authority, this is the first time that the entire leadership has collectively resigned.

The Supreme Prosecutor, who met the vacancy in the leadership, issued a statement saying, "The arbitration plan is nothing but a temporary postponement of the implementation period of the existing 'examination and overhaul' bill."

He also criticized him, saying, "There is a serious procedural problem that is being pursued with a target deadline set without any discussion."

"The arbitration bill did not solve the essential problems of the existing censorship and complete bill" 

The prosecution's internal communication network was overrun with the furious reactions of front-line prosecutors. 

Among the six major crimes, 4 crimes, including civil servant crimes and election crimes, which were mainly targeted by politicians, were omitted.

It is known that prosecutors who are in charge of the trial or investigating major cases such as the alleged Samsung illegal merger are also considering resignation.
