On the day the ship sank, 172 of the 476 people on the Sewol survived.

Eight years later, the survivors are remembering the Sewol ferry in their own way, either as first responders who save lives or making documentaries that compile the records of that time.



Reporter Sohn Ki-joon listened to their stories.

Handicap Jin, a second-year class 1 student at Danwon High School whose dream was to become an early childhood education teacher.



Since that day 8 years ago, Mr. Jang has changed his goals and has become a paramedic in his 3rd year.

I also chose this job because I wanted to do an early response, and I think this kind of job, which is a bit more active, is right for me.] It



saves many lives, but when it doesn't, it leaves a lot of pain.

Like any other 20-something, it's always nice to hear from high school alumni.

There are other cases like going on a working holiday or something like that.] In



April, we read a memorial service in memory of our friends who have become stars in the sky.

Anyway, I think that if we forget the Sewol ferry disaster, something like this will happen again later.]



Mr. Kim Seong-muk, who saved 20 students at the time of the disaster, and went on a 48-day fast at the end of last year to demand an investigation into the truth.



He works on a construction site and makes documentary films with volunteers in his spare time to remember the day.

For a better world, the survivors are moving forward one step at a time from their respective positions.
