Today (14th) around 0:40 a.m. on a street in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, an American in his 20s belonging to the Eighth Army was arrested by the police on charges of damaging a vehicle and several entrances to a house while drunk driving.
It is known that the US soldier had an accident while driving his vehicle after drinking at a bar in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
A total of nine vehicles were damaged, and it was confirmed that the entrances of five houses were also damaged.
At the time of the arrest, the blood alcohol level of the American soldier was known to be 0.14%, which is the level of license revocation.
A woman in her 20s who was a passenger at the time of the accident was also confirmed to have been drinking.
Police said the U.S. Army, who caused the accident, was handed over to the Eighth U.S. Army in accordance with SOFA regulations.
