A man in his 30s has been arrested after borrowing money from a taxi driver to say that his wife's childbirth is urgent.
It turned out that the man was single.
He was found to have carried out more than 30 fraudulent acts using similar techniques around the country.
The Haenam Police Station in Jeollanam-do said that they had arrested a 30-year-old man on the charge of running away after borrowing money falsely from a taxi driver.
After moving by taxi from Haenam to a hospital in Mokpo on the 31st of last month, Mr. A said to the taxi driver that his wife gave birth, but she was in a hurry and couldn't bring her wallet. .
Mr. A gave his contact information and said he would pay his money back as soon as his father arrived, but when he did not receive a call after waiting for over an hour, the taxi driver realized that he had been deceived and reported it to the police.
The police arrested Mr. A in Seoul within six days of reporting it.
A confessed that he had committed similar crimes across the country, and the police confirmed the fact that 37 similar cases were received at each police station across the country.
