The first trial of a lawsuit filed by the family of a victim who was murdered by the nephew of former Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung against Lee Jae-myung will be held in June.

According to the legal community today (12th), Judge Lee Yoo-hyeong, the 28th independent civil affairs judge of the Seoul Central District Court, has designated the first hearing date for the claim for damages filed by the victim's family A against the former governor as June 9.

The possibility of the former governor appearing directly in court is low as civil trials can be conducted without the presence of the parties and only a litigation representative can attend.

On May 8, 2006, Mr. Kim, the nephew of the former governor, visited Mr. A's home in Gangdong-gu, Seoul and killed Mr. A's spouse and daughter with a previously prepared weapon.

In the process, Mr. A jumped from the balcony of the 5th floor apartment to avoid Mr. Kim and was seriously injured.

Former governor Lee, who served as a lawyer for Kim's first and second trials in the criminal trial, became controversial when he claimed that Kim was mentally and mentally weak during the presidential election.

After Kim was sentenced to life in prison in both the first and second trial, the appeal was withdrawn, and the verdict was confirmed.

When the controversy broke out, the former governor explained, "A member of my family committed a felony of dating violence in the past.

Mr. A filed a claim for damages of 100 million won on December 9 last year, saying that the former governor suffered mental pain by referring to the murder as 'date violence'.

When the former governor did not respond to the lawsuit even after being served with the complaint, the court considered it to have acknowledged the cause of the claim and tried to issue a sentence, but the former governor later canceled it by submitting an answer.

In an answer given at the time, former Governor Lee said, "I immediately deny all of the plaintiff's allegations," and said, "Please dismiss the lawsuit."
