Black smoke comes out from all over the building, and firefighters trying to put out the fire try to get inside.

At around 6:30 this morning, a report was received by 119 that a large flame was soaring in the goshiwon, which is on the 3rd floor and 1st floor below the ground.

The fire department immediately issued the first stage of response, mobilizing all nearby fire department personnel, and the fire was extinguished around 9:40 am.

A man in his 70s and a man in his 60s who stayed in the gosiwon due to the fire were transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest, respectively, but eventually died.

In addition, 16 people in the gosiwon at the time evacuated on their own, and there were no additional injuries.

It is known that the Goshiwon, where the fire broke out, was mainly inhabited by low-income seniors, such as day laborers and recipients of basic livelihood security.

In addition, it is known that the sprinkler facilities were operating normally at the time of the fire.

Police and fire authorities believe that the fire started in the room on the second floor of the Goshiwon, and are investigating the cause of the fire, including the possibility of arson.

The police said that there was no trace of external intrusion and no flammable substances were found as a result of checking the CCTV of the Goshiwon so far.

The police plan to determine the exact cause of the fire through a second forensic tomorrow.
