Police officer Cha Mo, a 42-year-old mechanic who went missing in a helicopter crash off the coast of Jeju Island, was found dead.



The Jeju Provincial Maritime Police Agency said today (9th) that around 11:20 a.m., a body was found and recovered in a helicopter that sank 58 meters below the sea level.



The Coast Guard confirmed that the body was the missing car inspector.



The Coast Guard checked the fuselage of the helicopter that had sank overturned on the seabed with a naval ship's underwater search equipment around 5:15 a.m. and began searching the fuselage from the morning.



Earlier yesterday, around 1:30 a.m., a helicopter belonging to the Namhae Coast Guard Air Corps crashed 370 km southwest of Marado, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju.



Of the four helicopter operators on board the accident helicopter, two, including the first officer and ex-patrol officer, died, and the mechanic's car chief went missing.



The captain was injured and is currently being treated at the hospital.
