Former President Park Geun-hye appeared in a video asking her to support Daegu Mayor Yoo Young-ha, making her first political move after amnesty.

Former President Park appeared in a 4:54-minute video uploaded to 'You Young-ha TV', a YouTube channel named by Daegu Mayor Yoo Young-ha, around 7 am today (8th).

Former President Park said in this video that she assumed the sponsorship chairman by declaring her support for Yoo Young-ha, a member of the People's Power, as a preliminary candidate.

In the video, former President Park said, "Daegu is a city where the spirit of the heirs who sacrificed themselves, always thinking of the country rather than personal safety, is alive whenever the country is in trouble."

He also expressed his love for Daegu and the reason for moving down to Daegu after the amnesty.

Former President Park said, "My father also led the modernization of this country with a heart that puts the country before the comfort of one's own life, and laid the foundation for the Republic of Korea to develop into an advanced country today."

Former President Park said, "I also wanted to open an era of national happiness where all Koreans are happy with my father's support, and I had an earnest dream to establish Korea as a trusted advanced country in the world."

Former President Park said, "Candidate Young-ha Yoo has been with me through the most difficult and painful times over the past five years. Even when almost everyone who knew me leaves and even denies ties with me, she silently endures hard times by my side without shaking. I did it,” he said, explaining the reason for his support.

In particular, former President Park said, "Even though I received absurd slander and ridicule from people who were unaware of these circumstances, covering my eyes and ears and blocking me from meeting with myself, I silently endured the accusations without a single excuse." It also showed confidence in the candidate.

Former President Park asked for support, saying, "I couldn't achieve the dreams I wanted to achieve, but I believe that Candidate Yoo will make these unfulfilled dreams come true on my behalf here in Daegu, my hometown and hometown of Candidate Yoo Young-ha."

Rep. Hong Jun-pyo, who declared his candidacy for Daegu mayor, criticized former President Park's message.

In a post on Facebook, Rep. Hong pointed out, "The Daegu mayoral primary is not a field of policy confrontation, but the former president's arm and the president-elect's arm has been transformed into an election."
