The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Monday a new Strategic Project for economic recovery and transformation (Perte) on
microchips
and
semiconductors
that will entail a public investment of
11,000 million euros
.
Sánchez, who was participating in the
Wake Up Spain forum
under the slogan
'Learning, growth and sustainability in a Europe of solidarity'
, remarked that "semiconductors are a basic element in all sectors" and that "Spain is not going to lose the race to the most advanced technology".
The Government, he added, wants the country to be "at the forefront of industrial and technological progress" and in that objective "this
Perte
is a great bet", which it has described as "ambitious" and "bold", since it advances in the strategic autonomy of Europe.
His ad received an unexpected response.
The American billionaire tycoon Elon Musk responded on
with his own opinion on where the investment should go: "Spain should build a giant solar park. It could power all of Europe."
The former Minister of Science and astronaut Pedro Duque entered directly into the rag, who responded to
Musk
with great irony: "We welcome investments in Spain to boost our already large production of renewable energy. Our entire legal framework is prepared for it" , wrote.
And he asked, sarcastically: "Do you know any investors?".
There has been no response from
Elon Musk
.
