The admission to Pusan National University Medical School for the daughter of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk has been cancelled.

Pusan National University announced on the afternoon of the 5th that it had passed the original bill at the university headquarters faculty meeting.

Today's faculty meeting was attended by about 30 people including the president, the dean of the college, and the officers of the university headquarters.

Pusan National University decided to cancel Cho's admission to the medical school for the 2015 academic year after comprehensively reviewing the results of the admission process management committee's self-investigation in August of last year, the judgment of Professor Kyung-shim Jeong, and the opinions of the competent department.

After that, the hearing process that gave Mr. Cho a chance to explain himself began, and in March of this year, the hearing-related procedure was also completed when the hearing officer, an outsider, submitted a hearing report to the university headquarters.

Pusan National University's decision is expected to affect whether Cho's doctor's license will be revoked in the future and whether his admission to Korea University will be revoked.

However, since the Ministry of Health and Welfare has the authority to revoke a doctor's license, even if Pusan National University decides to cancel Cho's admission to the medical school, it will take a considerable amount of time before the doctor's license is revoked.

However, if Mr. Cho files an application for suspension of execution against Pusan National University and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, he will go through a lawsuit on the merits.
