China's BYD stops producing gasoline-powered cars

BYD, a Chinese vehicle manufacturer, announced that it has already stopped producing conventional gasoline vehicles, starting from last March.

The leading Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles said that in the future, its business in the vehicle sector will focus on electric vehicles.

With regard to existing customers of conventional gasoline vehicles, BYD stated that it will continue to provide them with improved services and after-sales support, as well as providing them with spare parts throughout the lifecycle.

The latest data indicates that in March, BYD sold 104,338 passenger cars, including 50,674 hybrid electric models and 53,664 pure electric models, while conventional gasoline models were not sold.
