A man in his 20s has been arrested as a suspect in the case of the disappearance of Jeong Sang-seok, which was located on the main peak of Suraksan Mountain.



According to the Namyangju Northern Police Station, etc. today (31st), the police are investigating a man in his 20s on charges of property damage, etc.



Person A is accused of damaging the summit stones of Suraksan Jubong and Dojeongbong this year, dumping it in a nearby hill, and cutting the safety rope installed on the train rock.



Person A, who was arrested through interrogation and investigation by the police, is said to have confessed while denying the charges.



A police official explained, "Currently, he admitted to the crime, but the method or motive is being investigated."




Earlier, in the middle of this month, it was known that the summit stones erected at Jubong, Dojeongbong, and Dosolbong had disappeared from Suraksan Mountain, and all six safety ropes installed on the train rock near the summit of Suraksan Mountain were also damaged, so the police launched an investigation.



Then, at the end of this month, the summit stone disappeared from Mt. Bulam, not far from Mt. Surak.
