A man in his 20s has been arrested as a suspect in the disappearance of Jeong Sang-seok in the northern part of Gyeonggi-do, such as Suraksan and Bulamsan.

According to the Namyangju Northern Police Station on the 31st, the police are investigating a man in his 20s on charges of damage to special property, etc.

Person A is accused of damaging the summit stones such as Jubong, Dojeongbong, Dosolbong, Guksabong and Bulamsan Aegibong this year and throwing them away at nearby points or cutting the safety rope installed on the train rock.

Person A, who started mountaineering to relieve the stress of working part-time, told the police, "I accidentally pushed the top stone, but it moved so I rolled it and started dropping it." said.

Accordingly, the police believe that Mr. A committed the crime just for fun, and is investigating the exact motive of the crime by confiscating his cell phone.

When this incident occurred, the Uijeongbu Police Station and Namyangju Northern Police Station searched the surrounding areas such as Suraksan Mountain to find the culprit.

Then, it is said that they have been tracking Mr. A based on eyewitness testimony that there is a suspicious hiker carrying equipment such as a crowbar.

Person A was initially consistent with the attitude of denying the police investigating the crime, but admitted the charge when a search and seizure warrant was applied for.

Earlier, in the middle of this month, it was known that the summit stones erected at Jubong, Dojeongbong, and Dosolbong had disappeared from Suraksan Mountain, and all six safety ropes installed on the train rock near the summit of Suraksan Mountain were also damaged, so the police launched an investigation.

Then, at the end of this month, the summit stone disappeared from Mt. Bulam, not far from Mt. Surak.
