A woman in her 20s, a suspect in the Seoul Subway Line 9 cell phone assault case, was handed over to the prosecution today (30th) under detention.

Mr. A departed from the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul today in a police convoy and arrived at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office around 8 am.

Wearing a beige coat, he entered the building without answering reporters' questions such as 'Why did you assault me' and 'Are you sorry to the victim?'

Person A is accused of injuring a victim in his 60s by hitting the head of a victim in his 60s several times with a mobile phone while in the train headed for Gayang Station on Seoul Subway Line 9 at 10:00 pm on the 16th.

The Gangseo Police Station arrested and investigated Mr. A without detention, but decided that the residence of Mr. A was unclear and there was a need to investigate the arrest, such as continuing to deny the charges, so on the 22nd, he applied for an arrest warrant in advance.

The police also confirmed the fact that the victim was assaulted by a man in his 60s, but it was judged to be in self-defense, and the case was dismissed as 'not guilty'.

On the other hand, it is said that Mr. A filed a request for a judgment on the suitability of arrest with the court the day after the arrest warrant was issued, but he withdrew from it because it was judged to be of no benefit, such as not being able to reach an agreement with the victim.
