The report of the transition committee of the Ministry of Justice, which was postponed once because Justice Minister Park Beom-gye opposes the promise of the elected president, was held yesterday (29th).

The Ministry of Justice changed its position and reported that it would actively support the promises of the elected president, including the abolition of the minister's right to direct investigation.

On the 24th, the Ministry of Justice's work report, which was canceled due to refusal of the transition committee, was reopened five days later.

In particular, he reported that he also sympathizes with the purpose of the abolition of the Ministerial Investigation Command, which Minister of Justice Park Beom-gye made clear his objection to.

The government only said that it would participate in the work to amend the law.

Also, regarding the expansion of the prosecution's direct investigation, which Minister Park objected to, the Ministry of Justice took a stand in conflict with the Minister, saying that related regulations need to be reorganized.

Minister Park did not go to the office yesterday, but in the legal circles, it is analyzed that, as the abolition of the investigative authority is a matter of law revision, Minister Park chose to present a conciliatory measure rather than insisting on building a confrontation with the transition committee until the end.

In the midst of this, President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol had a phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky, who is at war with Russia.

The transition committee said that it would not disclose details of the phone call because Ukraine is in a state of war, but President Zelensky wrote on social media that he hopes for the success of President-elect Yoon and cooperation between the two countries.
