TikTok is accused of not having sufficiently protected its former service providers from the shocking images they were to view.

Their job was to review large volumes of "unfiltered, disgusting and offensive content", the complaint says, including "child sexual abuse, rape, torture, beheadings, suicides and murders". .

Post-traumatic stress syndrome

According to the complainants, the platform did not put in place “recognized best practices to mitigate the risks necessarily caused by this work”.

This is the second such complaint against TikTok.

In December 2021, a former moderator attacked the social network, explaining that she had developed post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of her work.

This new legal action comes a few weeks after the opening of an investigation into the practices of TikTok by a group of American prosecutors, notes

The latter denounce in particular the potential harmful effects of the social network for young people and the more or less facilitated proliferation of fake news on the platform.
