Yesterday (24th) around 1:40 a.m., a report was received by the police that a 30-year-old USFK lieutenant A in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, had a car accident and then fled.

A's car, which was running in the second lane earlier, made an illegal U-turn, hit a taxi and fled.

A's blood alcohol level was 0.183% at the time, which was at the level of license revocation.

When a taxi driver and a passenger who stopped after A's car got out of the car and protested, three or four foreigners appeared around them.

A fight started as he got out of the car, and the fight that spread with fists continued until the police arrived at the scene.

One of Mr. A's party members who took part in the assault was also USFK Lieutenant B, in his 40s.

Police handed over two USFK troops to the US Military Police in accordance with SOFA regulations.

More details will be provided in <SBS 8 News> shortly.
