Vaccination targets for children aged 5-11 are those born in 2010 who have not had their birthday, and those born in 2017 whose birthday has passed.

After logging in to the vaccination reservation site, parents can enter their names in 'Representative reservations' and their children's names in the names of those to be vaccinated.

It is given twice at 8-week intervals, and even if it is given only once, a severe preventive effect is obtained.

A parent or guardian must be present for the inoculation starting on the 31st.

[Lee Sang-won / Head of Epidemiological Investigation and Analysis Team, Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters: Children have a relatively low fatality rate compared to adults.

However, children with underlying diseases have a very large impact and can become very serious.] The

infection rate per 100,000 people aged 5-11 was 22,000, 1.8 times higher than that of young adults.

Four people died, and 20 were seriously ill.

In particular, 70% of severe cases and 50% of deaths were those with underlying diseases.

This is why the government emphasizes that the benefits of vaccination are much greater for people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, lungs, heart, and liver.

However, in a survey by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), 60.5% of parents said they would not vaccinate their children.

[Parents to be vaccinated: Doctors don't even know that there is nothing wrong with the growth of children after getting (vaccine).

That's even more worrisome.]

The government emphasized that the general public's vaccine has a purple cap, and the children's vaccine, which contains a third of the ingredient's dose, has an orange cap to prevent incorrect vaccination.
