A male police officer in his 30s was arrested for stealing valuables from his car while walking around the apartment complex.
The Danwon Police Station in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, announced today (24th) that they arrested a 30-year-old suspect A on charges of theft yesterday and handed it over to the prosecution.
Person A is accused of stealing valuables from vehicles with side mirrors not folded and even stealing the vehicle while circling an apartment building in Ansan around 1:30 am on the 19th.
The police arrested Mr. A in a parking lot at a park in Hwaseong City around 9:40 am on the 21st.
It is reported that Mr. A, who does not have a fixed residence or job, has solved the problem, such as eating and sleeping in the stolen car.
Person A has a similar criminal record and was released from prison at the end of last year and is known to be in a repeat offender period.
Police said they are conducting an investigation to determine the extent of further damage.
