It was later confirmed that actor Kim Min-kyo was sentenced to probation in prison in connection with an accident in which a dog he was raising bitten and killed an 80-year-old woman next door.

According to the legal community today (23rd), on July 2, last year, Judge Park Sang-han, the 6th independent criminal of the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court, sentenced Kim, who was charged with manslaughter, to 8 months in prison and 2 years of probation.

In the judgment, Judge Park said, "The defendant violated the duty of care to manage the dog house, etc. by paying special attention not to harm people, even though the dog had had experience biting the neighborhood in the past. The guilt is not light at all when considering the circumstances, methods, and degree of damage caused by the crime."

However, "the defendant confessed to the crime and showed deep reflection, reached an amicable agreement with the victim's family, entrusted management of the dog to a dog training center to prevent recurrence, and had no history of punishment exceeding the fine. It was taken into account,” he said, explaining the reason for his sentencing.

Kim and the prosecution both did not appeal, and this judgment was confirmed as it is.

On May 4, 2020, at the residence of Mr. Kim in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, two dogs raised by Mr. Kim crossed the fence and ran into Mr. A in his 80s in the vegetable garden behind the residence, and an accident occurred, biting Mr. A's legs and arms. Person A died while receiving treatment.

At that time, it was investigated that the dogs were released in a doghouse without a leash.
