Former lawmaker Choi Kyung-hwan, who served as deputy prime minister for economy under the Park Geun-hye administration, has been released on parole.



At the parole review committee held yesterday (11th), the Ministry of Justice decided to release former lawmaker Choi on par on the 17th.



In October 2014, former lawmaker Choi was sentenced to five years in prison for receiving 100 million won as a bribe for special activities of the National Intelligence Service, and has served 80% of his sentence.



It has also been confirmed that former Samsung chief Choi Ji-seong and former president Jang Chung-ki, who were sentenced to prison for being implicated in the National Nongdan case, were also included in the parole list.
