The court requested the prosecution's confirmation, saying, "It seems that the extradition request has not been processed yet," and the prosecution replied, "I understand that it is being considered in Japan."
The court said, "If you do not appear on the next date, we will issue an arrest warrant again and proceed with a subpoena in accordance with the mutual judicial process."
Suzuki was brought to trial on charges of tying a stake with the words 'Takeshima (Dokdo) is Japanese territory' to a statue of a comfort women installed in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul in June 2012.
The court was going to proceed with the trial after the first date was set on September 23, 2013, but Suzuki's continued absence from the trial made it difficult to proceed with the trial.
In the end, the court issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Suzuki, requesting him to be wanted, and in September 2018, requested the extradition of Mr. Suzuki.
In addition, in May 2015, Mr. Suzuki sent a model of a girl without a knee below the knee (height 12 cm) and the words 'Type 5 supplies' written in Japanese to the War and Women's Human Rights Museum in Seoul and to the House of Sharing in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, a shelter for the Japanese military comfort women. He has been charged with insulting comfort women victims.
