Spotify confirmed on Tuesday that it was cut off for nearly an hour and a half.

Millions of users of the music streaming platform had reported on social media that they had lost their connection to the service.

“Something is not quite right, and we are investigating it,” the Swedish company said on Twitter.

“Thank you for your reports!

Around 90 minutes after his first tweet, Spotify reported that things were back to normal globally.

Other services apparently affected

The streaming platform gave no explanation for the outage or its causes.

Spotify was content to indicate that other platforms had also been affected.

"Spotify and several other platforms experienced a brief service outage," a company spokesperson confirmed.

Spotify is back and working normally for the majority of its users.

The platform has more than 400 million active users, including 180 million paid subscribers.
