A hilltop village overlooking the East Sea.

This, the representative tourist destination of Donghae-si, could not avoid the fire.

There were a lot of old and old buildings, so the damage was even greater.

In Mukhojin-dong, Donghae-si alone, more than 20 houses were damaged in this wildfire.

In the East Sea and Gangneung, 73 houses and 196 buildings were damaged by this forest fire, and it was tentatively estimated that 4,000 ha of forest was damaged.

The government has declared Donghae and Gangneung as special disaster zones today.

It is the fourth large-scale forest fire to be declared following the East Coast wildfires in 2000, Yangyang in 2005, and Sokcho wildfires in 2019.

For private facilities such as houses, 70% of the restoration cost and 50% for public facilities can be subsidized by the government.

In addition, living stabilization subsidies are provided to the affected residents to provide livelihood relief, and public charges may be reduced.

However, it is only dark before the eyes of the residents who have completely lost their livelihood and whether they will be able to return to their daily lives as they did in the past.

[Shin Won-jun / Wildfire victim: Everything is difficult from one to ten.

At the end of the best, it completely sank down and became ashes, so there is nothing I can do about it.]
