Yes, at the site of the forest fires in the East Sea and Gangneung, as the day dawned, extensive firefighting work began.

There's barely any wind, and the skies are shrouded in smoke, but the firefighting work is speeding up.

Forestry authorities are focusing on extinguishing the forest fire by sending 25 helicopters to the areas of Baekbongryeong and Bicheon-dong, Donghae-si, where the fire spread all night.

In addition, 3,700 firefighters and 250 equipment were deployed on the ground.

Evolution work is also speeding up, and in the case of Donghae and Gangneung, the evolution rate from 50% until last night has risen to 80% now.

Forest authorities are cautiously predicting that at this rate, it will be possible to extinguish fire during the daytime today.

In the East Sea and Gangneung forest fires, 106 buildings including houses and warehouses were burned and 36 buildings were partially damaged.

Most of the residents who spent the night in evacuation facilities returned home, but about 40 victims are living in temporary housing facilities.

Forest damage is also estimated at 4,000 hectares, but the damage is expected to increase once the fire is extinguished.

In Yeongwol, Gangwon-do, a large-scale firefighting operation started in the morning.

The fire extinguishing rate of the Yeongwol wildfire is about 50%, but the forestry authorities are aiming to extinguish the main fire today by deploying 11 helicopters and 500 manpower.
