The wildfire that started in Uljin, Gyeongbuk is spreading throughout Gangwon-do.

The wildfire went to the city center and caused a lot of damage in the East Sea, but the fire department, who fought hard all night to prevent the fire from coming to the private house, started to work in earnest as the day dawned.

On-site connection.

Reporter Jae-Sung Mo, how is the situation now?

Yes, I am now at the fire site in Mangsang-dong, Donghae-si.

The fire department built a stop line, but the strong wind blew through the night and the fire was moved here and there.

As strong winds do not subside, the flames still threaten private homes.

In Mangsang-dong, Donghae, the fire approached the village entrance, and both the firefighters and residents stayed up all night with their eyes open.

The Donghae wildfire spread to the downtown area and caused great damage. The forest damage in Gangneung and the East Sea is estimated to exceed 500 hectares.

When the evolution is finished, the actual damage is likely to be greater.

Gangwon-do Monument Donghae Eodalsan Beacon Tower is currently inaccessible due to fire, and Hangunam Beop-dong, a temple, has also been completely burned.

Donghae City has designated Mangsang-dong, Balhan-dong, and Mukho-dong as evacuation areas, and hastily issued an evacuation order.

About 260 evacuated residents are currently distributed in six temporary shelters.

Traffic is still being controlled, and the 14.8km section from Okgye IC to Donghae IC on the Donghae Expressway has been controlled, and railways along the East Coast of Gangwon, such as KTX and Mugunghwa Lake, are also being suspended or shortened.

The forestry authorities plan to put out a fire by today by putting in a lot of equipment and manpower, including 30 firefighting helicopters, only in the East Sea and Gangneung.
