There are reporters out here too, so let's connect to the scene and hear the evolution.

G1 Reporter Jung Chang-young, is the fire in Samcheok going out?

<Reporter> The

forest fire that burned through the night left black soot on the mountain and is now being gradually caught.

Fortunately, as the wind blows from the west in the morning, the fire does not spread to the upper part of Samcheok, making the fire-fighting work easier.

However, there is still a pungent smoke vibrating from the scene.

From the morning of the 5th, an evolution helicopter was deployed.

The Korea Forest Service and firefighting helicopters started cleaning up the forest fire by purifying the Nogok Stream.

Local residents breathed a sigh of relief at the sound of the helicopter, and the forest fire that came down to the village overnight eventually burned down a private house in Gopo Village.

The number of villagers who were evacuated from the fierce fire increased to 230, and they had to stay up all night in the town office and welfare center.

57 firefighting helicopters and 88 firefighting vehicles from the Korea Forest Service and firefighting services gathered in Uljin and Samcheok to extinguish the fire, and 1,431 firefighters, firefighters, and military and police personnel were deployed on the ground to stop the spread of the flames.

Currently, fire departments are involved in large fires coming down to private houses, and specialized forest fire-fighting teams are involved in cleaning up residual fires, and it is expected that the main fire will be extinguished in the morning.

However, the forest fire in Samcheok has so far burned over 260 hectares.
