MWC Starts a Mobile World Congress that aspires to normality
Oppo's future smartphones will be able to
charge in record time
.
The company has taken advantage of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to announce a new charging technology with a power of 240 watts that will be able to recharge a 4,500 mAh battery, the typical capacity in a conventional smartphone, in less than nine minutes.
This new charging protocol would be the fastest on the market, nearly doubling the power of the company's current 150W Supervooc, which uses 150W
charging power
and can charge a 4500mAh battery to 50% in 5 minutes and in just 15 minutes a 100% charge.
Oppo accompanies this technology with various protection measures that help maintain battery performance at 80% of its original capacity after
1,600 charge cycles
, twice the industry current of 800 cycles.
These protection measures are necessary because high-power charges
subject the batteries to high temperatures
that can degrade them and shorten their useful life.
5G MODEM
In addition to the new charging technology, Oppo, which has become the fourth best-selling smartphone brand in the world in 2021, has
also announced a new modem
, the OPPO 5G CPE T2, which can provide WiFi or Ethernet connection to several devices.
The modem uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon X62 platform, optimized to achieve an increase of more than 20% in the standard transmission speed of this modem.
The device creates a Wi-Fi network that computers, tablets, and other phones and devices can use by taking advantage of the
5G
connection speed , comparable to that of a basic fiber connection.
In the mobile phone catalog there are few announcements because the company announced its latest terminals a few days before the MWC, the Oppo Find X5 and the Oppo Find 5X Pro.
These are two smartphones with a curved AMOLED screen of 6.5 and 6.7 inches respectively and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
The phones
include a camera module with two lenses
, one wide angle and one wide angle, both 50 mpx and signed by the photography brand Hasselblad, and a 5x 13 mpx zoom.
The Pro model is also capable of recording in lower light conditions thanks to its 5-axis stabilizer for the sensor and is capable of charging at a power of 80 watts.
The Oppo Find X5 Pro 5G will be available on
March 14 for a price of €1,299
.
The Find X5 5G will be priced at €999.
