Last year, during the SAT, some test centers rang the test end bell earlier than expected.

A judgment has been issued that the government should compensate the students who suffered damage by 2 million won each.

The Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of some of the plaintiffs in a claim for damages filed by 25 students, including test takers and their parents, against the state and the city of Seoul, demanding 'compensation for a total of 88 million won.'

The court ordered the state to pay 2 million won per person to nine students, excluding parents.

Previously, in December of last year, at a high school in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, while the first elective exam was in progress for the SAT 4 period inquiry area, the test end bell rang 2 minutes earlier than planned.

The supervisors collected the test papers, assessed the situation, and handed out the test papers again and had them solve the problems.

At that time, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education explained that the broadcasting teacher mishandled the mouse in the process of setting the test end time, and although additional time was provided, the examinees and parents filed a lawsuit for damages saying they could not properly solve the problem due to the sudden situation.
