An explosion was vividly captured during a live broadcast in the capital Kiev as Russia's invasion of Ukraine became a reality.



CNN reported that Kiev's local correspondent, Matthew Chance, heard an explosion during a live broadcast of the Russian invasion.

In the video, reporter Matthew Chance, who was broadcasting live in the middle of the night, heard several times what appeared to be an explosion somewhere in Kiev while reporting the Russian invasion.



Reporter Matthew Chance said, "I heard about 4 or 5 explosions a little while ago."

After dawn, air raid sirens sounded in Kiev, and there were reports of evacuation processions continuing to block roads.

Russian media reported that the Russian army had launched an attack on a military installation in Ukraine.
