A 50-year-old man who killed an acquaintance who usually ignored him because he was young was sentenced to 16 years in prison in the first trial.

The 5th Criminal Division of the Busan District Court (Chief Judge Park Moo-young) announced today (24th) that a 50-year-old man who was handed over for murder was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

He also ordered 5 years of probation.

A was charged with stabbing and killing an acquaintance, B, in his 50s, on the street near a restaurant in Dong-gu, Busan at around 2:45 pm on September 21 last year.

According to the judgment, Mr. A and Mr. B got to know each other while working, but they did not get along well due to differences in personality, etc.

Then, on the morning of the incident, Mr. B, who was drinking with several acquaintances at a restaurant, said to another acquaintance, C, who was drinking with Mr. A, "What is the age difference, why are you drinking there, come here?" When I said that, Mr. A was offended.

At about 2:45 pm that day, when Mr. B went out to buy alcohol, Mr. A pulled out a weapon from the kitchen, followed him, and killed Mr. B on the street in front of the crosswalk near the restaurant.

The court explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The murder of an unprotected victim is a very bad crime and needs to be severely punished. Before this case, there was a history of stabbing an acquaintance who was fighting with a knife."
