Jo Se-hyeong (84), who was once called a 'daedo', was arrested and handed over to the prosecution on charges of stealing again after being released from prison.

The Yongin Eastern Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (23rd) that they had sent Cho, who had been arrested on charges of theft under the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Crimes, to the prosecution.

Cho is accused of stealing 25 million won worth of money by sneaking into a luxury country house in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si with his accomplice A, a classmate of the prison.

As a result of the police investigation, from the end of last month to the middle of this month, a total of 50 million won worth of theft occurred five times in this housing complex, and it was confirmed that Cho was involved in one of the crimes.

The remaining 4 cases were identified as A's independent crime, the police said.

Earlier, the police arrested and arrested Mr. A on the 14th, and arrested Mr. Cho in Seoul on the 17th.

After the arrest warrant was issued on the 19th, Cho, who denied the crime, confessed, "I committed the crime because Mr. A asked me to do it together."

Meanwhile, Cho, who was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for theft in 2019 and was released from prison in December last year, was investigated for touching other people's things again after just over a month.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Cho earned the nickname 'Daedo' for his unprecedented thefts against high-ranking socialites.

His theft exposed the luxury of high society, and it was also glorified as 'righteousness' as it was known that he set up his own principles, such as using some of the stolen money for the poor.
