Pirate site operator ETTV has informed TorrentFreak that it does not have the funds to maintain the site and upload bots.

For the moment, the domain names are still registered, but they will not be renewed.

A difficult closure

Sidekickbob, is the replacement for the original administrator of ETTV, who disappeared two years ago.

Thanks to its financial support, the site was able to remain operational for a while.

In the long term, sidekickbob's plan was to sell the site to a third party who would keep it intact.

But the administrator seems to have abandoned this option.

In lack of financial resources

Indeed, he announced on February 6 that the site was now closed for an indefinite period.

“I no longer had the means to make it work.

I will not renew domains,” Sidekickbob tells TorrentFreak.

He says that decision was difficult to make.

"The site had about 250,000 loyal visitors a day, and many uploaders were downloading daily since the beginning of all this," says the administrator.

In fact, the operator tried to sell ETTV to a reliable third party, but failed to find one.

The site is therefore closing its doors, after more than ten years of work in this field.

2011 – 2022

As a reminder, the ETTV group is a torrent directory.

It allows you to quickly find films, series, software or files of any type.

The site became active in 2011. It is the successor of ExtraTorrent and has taken over the initials, ETTV.

It first presented itself as an alternative to the original EZTV group, which dominated the TV series industry at the time.

The group distributed counterfeit content in the form of BitTorrent.

ETTV was then a faster alternative.
