Xiaomi: 4.24 million smartphone sales units in the UAE during 2021

The regional director in the UAE and Jordan of the Xiaomi International Technology Corporation, Arjun Batra, said that the total sales of smart phones in the UAE market during 2021 amounted to 4.245 million units, according to the GfK International Corporation for Market Studies.

He added, in a press interview in Dubai, yesterday, that "the UAE market's recording of remarkable activity rates in the smart phone sector came with the support of the rapid recovery from the effects of the (Covid-19) pandemic, and the increase in the number of tourists, especially with the convening of (Expo 2020 Dubai), and the trend of Many consumers are turning to buying new smart phones, in light of the increasing reliance on them in online shopping and work tasks.”

Batra expected that smartphones in the UAE market will maintain similar growth rates during the current year, and that the markets will witness competition among producing companies in the capabilities of fast charging of phones, the accuracy of cameras, in addition to the strength of batteries and operation for periods.

He revealed that the company has started offering smart phones in the UAE market this year, pointing to the launch of the "Redmi Note 11" series, which includes four categories of the so-called "Mid-Range", or the middle price category, and includes: "Redmi Note Pro 11 Five". G”, “Redmi Note 11 Pro”, “Redmi Note 11 S”, and “Redmi Note 11”.

He added that Xiaomi plans this year to expand the launch of smart home products that are controlled and operated through smart phone applications, in addition to offering wearable products, such as fitness bracelets and smart watches.
