National People's Party presidential candidate Cheol-soo Ahn received the first oral opinion from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation that the police investigating the circumstances of the accident related to the death of two people on a campaign bus were 'suspected of carbon monoxide poisoning'.

According to the police, the National Forensic Service conducted an autopsy on 63-year-old Son Mo and 50-year-old A, who were found to be in cardiac arrest on the 15th and died on the 15th.

The National Forensic Service delivered the findings of 'suspected carbon monoxide poisoning' to the police based on visual forensics, and the exact cause of death is expected to come out after undergoing a biopsy.

Based on the results of on-the-spot forensics, the police are conducting an investigation focusing on suffocation.

Earlier, yesterday (16th), the on-site forensic team confirmed that the carbon monoxide concentration in the cargo compartment soared to a maximum of 4,80 ppm as a result of running the generator for 30 minutes.

The concentration in the bus was also measured to be 1,500 to 2,250 ppm, and where the concentration of carbon monoxide is 1,600 ppm, it can cause death within two hours.

The police, who visited an LED installation company headquartered in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do yesterday and received statements from officials, plan to secure and analyze documents that can examine the structure of the connection between the LED signboard and the generator.

The police are expected to speed up the investigation, including criminal prosecution of those involved if suspicions of negligent homicide are found.
