A 40-year-old man in his 40s who cheated on going on a business trip abroad, loosened an electronic anklet (location-tracking electronic device), stole money from an acquaintance and fled abroad, was sentenced to prison in the first trial.

Today (14th), the 1st Criminal Division of the Cheonan Branch of the Daejeon District Court (Presiding Judge Dae-won Chae) sentenced A (47), who was arrested and charged with special robbery, etc. Ordered to attach.

Person A is accused of threatening an acquaintance with a knife at a house in Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si in September last year, then stealing 50 million won and fleeing abroad.

Mr. A was subject to an electronic anklet because of a sexual offense committed in the past, but he deceived that he was going on a business trip abroad and obtained permission to temporarily release the electronic anklet from the Cheonan Probation Office in advance.

Person A, who received permission to leave the country, fled abroad immediately after committing the crime on the day of his departure.

It was revealed that Mr. A knew in advance that even the wearer of an electronic anklet could receive a departure permit if he received an identity guarantee, and planned the crime meticulously.

However, when the police who received the report requested a red request from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), Mr. A was caught in the Czech Republic the same month and returned and arrested.

The court said, "It seems that the victim's fear must have been considerable by threatening with a weapon prepared in advance and leaving him in detention for 18 hours." The sentence was decided in consideration of the fact that (the victim) did not want punishment,” he explained.
