At around 7 pm yesterday evening, three large trucks and two cars collided one after another near the Goryeong Junction in the direction of Yangpyeong on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway, Seongsan-myeon, Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
In the accident, the driver of the car, A, in his 50s, died and three people in another vehicle were injured and taken to the hospital.
Roads in both directions were once congested as the vehicle crashed into the median and rubble fell on the opposite road.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on eyewitness statements and vehicle black boxes.
