A man in his 20s who runs a shaved ice cafe has been fined for posting false reviews on a delivery app that slandered a competitor.

The Incheon District Court sentenced a 20-year-old man charged with obstruction of business to a fine of 3 million won and probation for one year.

In May of last year, Mr. A was charged with leaving a false review after accessing a delivery app at his home in Jung-gu, Incheon, ordering a competitor's shaved ice.

Mr. A left a message along with a picture of the shaved ice that was in a messy packaging, saying, 'I didn't drop it, I took a picture of it as it was received' and 'Please pay attention to the packaging'.

A competitor 500m away from his shop started selling shaved ice and then sales fell, and it was investigated that he committed this crime.

The court stated that the reason for the sentencing was that the accused was reflecting on his wrongdoings and took into account the fact that he had reached an amicable agreement with the victim, although the guilt was not light in the details of the crime.
