A plastic surgeon charged with sutures with gauze on a patient's body during plastic surgery has been sentenced to a fine by the appeals court.

Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Appeal Division 9 (Chief Judge Yang Kyung-seung) broke the first trial of acquitting plastic surgeon A, who was charged with occupational negligence, and sentenced him to a fine of 10 million won.

Person A is suspected of injuring a Thai person by collecting cartilage from his left rib (rib) while he was running a plastic surgery clinic in Seoul in August 2015, and sutured it with gauze. .

Person A, who was handed over to the trial, claimed innocence, saying, "I did a procedure to collect the left soft rib during the operation on Mr. B, but he did not even use gauze in this process."

In the video sample of Mr. A's procedure for collecting soft ribs, the court of first instance confirms that the gauze found on Mr. B's body matches the standard of gauze usually used at Mr. A's hospital. He was acquitted on the grounds that he did not.

However, the court of appeals overturned the first trial, saying, "During the operation, the gauze was left inside the victim's left rib due to the defendant's negligence, and the victim was injured by the defendant's negligence."

Person A appealed against the judgment.
