Two days ago, a man in his 50s suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed on a city bus, but the driver and passengers were able to save their lives by calmly responding. The bus driver said that he had received first aid training at the company and was just doing what was normal.

This is TBC reporter Park Young-hoon.

The head of male passenger A wearing a hat droops helplessly and falls to the floor of the bus.

The passenger right next to him gets up without delay and checks Mr. A's condition.

[Lim Ji-heon/Bus Passenger: (Suddenly) You collapsed, so I had a bad feeling. I lay flat on my back because I thought I would have to look at the patient's condition.]

15 seconds after A collapsed, 65-year-old Woo Jung-goo, a bus driver, comes running.

Mr. Woo performs CPR without hesitation for a moment, and the passenger also helps with first aid by rubbing Mr. A's arms and legs.

Another female passenger calls 911 on her cell phone for an ambulance.

Person A, who received first aid, regained consciousness after about a minute and was transferred to the hospital to recover health.

[Woo Jung-gu / Bus Driver: I was quite surprised. I did chest compressions until breathing returned. When you wake up, support your body and stand upright. (First Aid) I have received all the training so I am familiar with it.]

Mr. Woo said he was only doing his duty as a bus driver responsible for the safety of passengers.

In Gyeongju, a passenger in his 50s who lost consciousness on a city bus in November of last year was also saved by first aid from the driver and passengers.
