On Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, a 75-year-old homeless man from Shenzhen, Guangdong became a hot topic.

The homeless man in question was the president of a company who was not envious of a millionaire.

According to Chinese media Pengpai, the identity of this homeless man was confirmed to be Zhang Yuancheon, former chairman of Shenzhen Longpa Food Industry Co., Ltd.

A native of Yantai, Shandong Province, former chairman Zhang Yuanchen started a successful clothing company in Yantai before running food companies in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

At the time, he owned more than 90% of the company and had hundreds of employees.

Chairman Chang aggressively expanded his business from 2003 to 2009, but eventually became in debt.

As an elderly man, he lived on the streets, collecting and selling scraps or begging for food.

“My family abandoned me after bankruptcy,” said former Chairman Chang in an interview with Peng Pai.

Former Chairman Jang has a wife, two sons and a daughter, but he left the family after a successful business in the 1990s, and it is said that he has had little contact with the family since.

When news broke that Chang was homeless, his family decided to take him to his hometown of Shandong.

The son of former Chairman Jang said, "I express my gratitude for the interest of netizens." "We never abandoned him, and we contacted him several years ago, but we did not reach him."

He continued, "I don't want to talk about the pain of the past," he added. "I didn't know that my father was so shabby.
