You will receive a lot of parcel-related text messages ahead of the Lunar New Year, but you need to be careful as the number of smishing crimes under the guise of delivery text messages is increasing.

According to the National Police Agency, there were about 202,000 cases of smishing reported and blocked last year.

Among them, there were 175,000 or 87% of courier fraudulent scams, which took advantage of a time when a lot of parcels were exchanged, such as during the Lunar New Year holidays.

Usually, the parcel has been returned, so please check the address again, or there is a parcel that has not been received.

Smishing under the guise of the government's small business support project is also expected to increase.

If you suspect smishing damage, you can get free consultation by contacting the Korea Internet & Security Agency or the 118 Counseling Center.
