In the midst of the succession of news about the rise in electricity and

when the price of a megawatt per hour has exceeded 300 euros for several days

, in recent days it has been known that two users have received exorbitant bills by mistake.

The first case, broadcast by the program Cuatro al Día and Informativos Telecinco, had as involuntary protagonists a couple from A Coruña.

They received an electricity bill of 6,860.15 euros when it usually ranges between 40 and 50 euros.

"We don't have ceramic hob, thermos, or electric radiators," said Amanda and Joaquín, the receivers, in a connection on that program.

They realized that it was an error because

Naturgy claimed a consumption of 22,484 kilowatts between September 26 and November 25

.

A billing that overlapped with two others that had already been paid, one of 55.64 euros and another of 35.95 that corresponded to those two months.

Fortunately for them, their bank office blocked the payment on the understanding that it was due to an error.

According to what they reported, they could not contact the company either by phone or through the web.

Yes, they have made a written claim for which they expect a response in 15 days.

In statements to Radio Voz about this case, Naturgy has acknowledged the failure and has advanced that it will be corrected.

The second case has been denounced by the Facua consumer association and collected by the EFE agency.

Although it has been spread in the last few hours, the error refers to the months of April and May.

Endesa tried to charge a user almost 3,000 euros for an invoice that was equivalent to 28 years of consumption, the organization warned in a statement.

The invoice stated that the affected person had consumed 13,928 kilowatt hours (kWh) when in fact he had only consumed 74.

"The receipt amounted to 2,702 euros, but Endesa could not charge me because I did not have that money in my bank account,"

said Francisco Javier Amate Raposo, who pointed out that there was "a strange crossing of data" when calculating consumption in the different time slots. He explained to the association that his bi-monthly bill used to be around 40 euros, as he had a small apartment "in which I hardly work because I work all over Spain."

The distributor E-Distribución, owned by Endesa, told him that his consumption during that period was actually only 74 kWh, but the distributor always responded to his repeated claims, assuring him that there was no anomaly.

Finally, the marketer acknowledged its error to Facua Cádiz and proceeded to cancel the invoice of 2,702 euros and issue a new one with the 74 kWh that Francisco Javier had actually consumed, 188 times less.
